Beijing
Beijing is also known as Peking.It is a metropolis in northern China and the capital of the People’s Republic of China. Governed as a municipality under direct administration of the central government, Beijing borders Hebei Province to the north, west, south, and for a small section in the east, and Tianjin Municipality to thesoutheast.Beijing is one of the Four Great Ancient Capitals of China.
Beijing is a major transportation hub, with dozens of railways, roads and motorways passing through the city. It is also the destination of many international flights arriving in China. Beijing is recognized as the political, educational, and cultural center of the People’s Republic of China,while Shanghai and Hong Kong predominate in economic fields. Beijing is renowned for its opulent palaces, temples, and huge stone walls and gates.Its art treasures and universities have long made the city a centre of culture and art in China.Beijing opera or Peking opera is well-known throughout the nation . Commonly lauded as one of the highest achievements of Chinese culture, Beijing opera is performed through a combination of song, spoken dialogue, and codified action sequences, such as gestures, movement, fighting and acrobatics.
Shanghai
Shanghai is a metropolis in eastern China and a direct-controlled municipality of the People’s Republic of China. Located at the middle part of the coast of mainlandChina, it sits at the mouth of the Yangtze. The city is a tourist destination renowned for its historical landmarks such as the Bund and City God Temple, and its modern and ever-expanding Pudong skyline including the Oriental Pearl Tower. Today, Shanghai is the largest center of commerce and finance in mainland China, and has been described as the “showpiece” of the world’s fastest-growing major economy. Shanghai sits on the Yangtze River Delta on China‘s eastern coast, and is roughly equidistant from Beijing and Hong Kong. Shanghai is often regarded as the center of finance and trade in mainland China. In Shanghai the modern architecture is notable for its unique style, especially in the highest floors, with several top floor restaurants which resemble flying saucers.
Tianjin
Tianjin is a metropolis in Northeastern China. It is governed as a direct-controlled municipality, one of four such designations, and is thus under direct administration of the central government, and borders Hebei Province and Beijing Municipality, bounded to the east by the Bohai Gulf portion of the Yellow Sea. In terms of urban population, it is the sixth largest city of the People’s Republic of China, and its urban land area ranks 5th in the nation, only after Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, and Shenzhen. Wheat, rice, and maize are the most important crops. Fishing is important along the coast. Tianjin is also an important industrial base. Major industries include petrochemical industries, textiles, car manufacturing, mechanical industries, and metalworking.
Shenzhen
Shenzhen is situated in the subtropical part of China, located at about the Tropic of Cancer. Main industrial zones in Shenzhen are Shenzhen Free Trade Zone andShenzhen High-tech Industrial Park. The Shenzhen Stock Exchange (SZSE) is a mutualized national stock exchange under the China Securities Regulatory Commission (the CSRC) that provides a venue for securities trading. A broad spectrum of market participants, including 540 listed companies, 35 million registered investors and 177 exchange members.In Shenzhen’s major tourist attractions are Chinese Folk Culture Village, the Window of the World, Happy Valley, Splendid China, the Safari Park in Nanshan district, the Dameisha Promenade, Xiaomeisha Beach Resort in Yantian district, Zhongying Jie / Chung Ying Street, Xianhu Lake Botanical Garden, and Minsk World. The city also offers free admission to a number of public parks including the Lianhuashan Park, Lizhi Park, Zhongshan Parkand Wutongshan Park.
Chongqing is a major city in southwestern China. Administratively, it is one of the People’s Republic of China‘s four provincial-level direct-controlled municipalities, and the only such municipality in western China. Chongqing is China‘s third largest center of motor vehicle production and the largest for motorcycles. In 2007, it had an annual output capacity of 1 million automobiles and 8.6 million motorcycles.Leading makers of cars and motor bikes include Changan Automotive Corp – China‘s fourth biggest automaker and Lifan Hongda Enterprise. The municipality is also one of the 9 largest iron and steel centres in China and one of the three majoraluminium producers. Important manufacturers include Chongqing Iron and Steel Company and South West Aluminium – Asia‘s largest aluminum plant.Agricultureremains significant. Rice and fruits (especially oranges) are the area’s main produce.
Qingdao is a major city in eastern Shandong province, People’s Republic of China. It borders Yantai to the northeast, Weifang to the west and Rizhao to the southeast. Lying across the Shandong Peninsula while looking out to the Yellow Sea, Qingdao today is a major seaport, naval base, and industrial center. It is also the site of the Tsingtao Brewery. Qingdao is administratively at the sub-provincial level. In 2008, Qingdao was named China‘s 7th-most livable city. In terms of primary industry, Qingdao has a zigzagging pattern coastline, and thus possesses an invaluable stock of fish, shrimp, and other sea resources.
Qingdao is also home to a variety of mineral resources. Up to thirty different kinds have been mined. Qingdao‘s wind power electricity generation performs at among the best levels in the region.
Xinjiang is an autonomous region (Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region) of the People’s Republic of China and also claimed by the Republic of China. It is the largest Chinese administrative division and spans over 1.6 million sq. km. Xinjiang borders Russia, Mongolia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Afghanistan, Pakistan and India, has abun Xinjiang is known for its fruits and produce, including grapes, melons, pears, cotton, wheat, silk, walnuts and sheep. Xinjiang also has large deposits of minerals and oil.dant oil reserves and is China‘s largest natural gas-producing region.
Xi’an is the capital of the Shaanxi province in the People’s Republic of China the city of Xi’an has re-emerged as an important cultural, industrial and educational center of the central-northwest region, with facilities for research and development, national security and China‘s space exploration program. China‘s 3G standard (Datang Telecom) and Wireless standard (Xidian university) are birthed in Xian.
Qinhuangdao is a city in Hebei province, China. It is about 300 km east of Beijing, on the Bohai Sea, the innermost gulf of the Yellow Sea. Qinhuangdao port is a strategically important port on China and is the largest coal shipping port in the country, much of which is shipped to power plants elsewhere in China.
Changchun is the capital and largest city of Jilin province, located in the northeast of the People’s Republic of China, in the center of the Songliao Plain. Changchun‘smain industry is the manufacturing of transportation facilities and machinery. It produces 20%, 50%, and 10% of all automobiles, passenger trains, and tractors made in China.
Changchun is the biggest automobile research and development center in China. The first Chinese truck and car was made in Changchun.
